Production note @
One
year ago, I received an email from someone in the UK, introduced by Yokoi
san, the organizer of Schlippenbach's Trio concerts in Japan. I was told that
Roger san would like to play with Yuji san in Shizuoka, so I immediately replied
with a "yes". @I discovered that Yuji sanΥs email address contains the word
"clinamen", which made me curious and led to my discovering an art installation
called "clinamen" where sounds are created by pieces of pottery floating and
colliding together in a water tank. @It reminded me of seeing the artist,
Tatsuo Kawaguchi's work, the "Lavender's pool". I decided to call the concert
"music firing into the air". The day before the concert, we took Roger san
and his wife to Miho no Matsubara by car, with my wife driving. It was a rather
warm winter's day in December, and we could see Mount Fuji clearly in the
cloudless sunset. On the concert day, all of us went to the Shizuoka station
to pick up Yuji san, and headed to the Aoshima hall. Then, they started to
play. This CD is the document of their music. @@@@@@@@@@ (Shigeru
